Shira D. Weiner is the chief counsel for Kroll Business Services, based in New York. Shira has over 14 years of restructuring experience representing debtors, creditors, private equity firms, hedge funds and other lenders in the context of complex Chapter 11 cases and out-of-court restructurings.

Prior to joining Kroll in 2017, Shira began her career as an associate in the Business Finance & Restructuring department of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, and thereafter joined the restructuring groups at Friedman Kaplan Seiler & Adelman LLP and Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher LLP. Some of her clients included American Airlines, Loral Space & Communications, Macquarie Investments US Inc. in Relativity Media, Harbinger Capital Partners in LightSquared, and the Ad Hoc Noteholder Group of Triangle USA Petroleum Corporation. From 2010 to 2012, Shira worked at Kurtzman Carson Consultants, a claims and noticing agent, as Director of Corporate Restructuring Services.

Shira graduated from Emory University. She also holds a J.D. (cum laude) from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law, where she served as managing editor of the Cardozo Law Review.
