Katina Brountzas is senior director in the Prime Clerk Restructuring practice Katina has over 20 years of experience in the restructuring industry. For nearly a decade she clerked for several Judges in the Bankruptcy Court for the Southern District of New York, managing numerous mega chapter 11 cases, as well as overseeing thousands of chapter 7 cases.
Katina spent a number of years in private practice as an associate in the Restructuring Department at Cadwalader and in the Bankruptcy and Creditors Rights Department at Silverman Acampora, representing chapter 11 debtors, creditors, official committees of unsecured creditors, and chapter 7 panel trustees. Since then, Katina has assumed key operational and leadership roles at the largest claims and noticing agents in the country.
Highly regarded within the industry for her ability to anticipate challenges, address issues and serve as a trusted advisor in a fast-paced environment, her experience spans a wide range of industries, from airlines, to healthcare, energy, and retail. More recently, Katina has developed a particular expertise of best practices for handling, processing, and protecting the sensitive data in legal administrations. She regularly advises clients on the nuances related to the protection of personally identifiable information in the bankruptcy context, including noticing that may involve HIPAA and other privacy regulations.
Katina grew up in New York City and graduated from University at Albany and holds a J.D. from Brooklyn Law School.
